I've been a dancer for as long as I can remember. I learned at a very young age the importance of being a good role model and how impressionable girls and young women are. Too often, especially in the world of dance, dancers feel as though they have to go to extreme measures to look and feel good about themselves. Unfortunately, this usually means compromising their health and well-being. During high school as an assistant dance teacher and in college while traveling internationally with a performing arts group, I had the opportunity to be a role model for young women helping them build their confidence and self-esteem. Though I was loving everything about what I was doing, lack of sleep, cardio for 12 hours a day and an irregular and unhealthy lifestyle did a toll on my body. When I finished touring I decided I wanted to pursue my other passion - health. I wanted to put myself in a position where I could impact and influence other young girls to make healthy lifestyle choices at a young age. I knew that in order to do that I first had to take control of my own health.
After two years, a Holistic Health Coach certification, a Drugless Practitioner certification, and a total transformation of my own health, I am ready to help other young adults along their health journey. I can't wait to share with my readers all that I have learned and all that I am continuing to learn about health, wellness and fitness.
My goal is to educate current and former dancers, studio owners, dance team coaches, dance teachers and caregivers around the world on proper nutrition, strength training and injury prevention. You can expect a variety of things from my site including, but not limited to: recipes, health, beauty and fitness tips, answers to common health questions, motivation, dance and music entertainment, stretches and exercises specifically for dancers and product giveaways.
